YUYAO CHINA

In 2016 winter, I went back to my hometown in China, YuYao. I visited my grandparents that I haven't seen for years after I came to the U.S. The "City Center" transformed from a rural market area into a huge economic center. It changed. Very little taste of the hometown in my memory is left. People changed, culture changed, buildings changed. I decided to get away from the city, to seek for the true YuYao... I went on a journey alone into even more rural areas away from the city center, there I discovered things I have never experienced before... The true way of life stlye in YuYao and the interaction within people and nature. Here is the true Yuyao presented to you...

MORNING 早餐

Tranquility

It was 5 o'clock in the morning in YuYao. People already gathered around "Food Centers", chatting... There are generally no electricity in the area, everything is done by fire wood or coal. Although the dry December air blows on my face like sharp blades, the jubilant atmosphere warmed everything. Bows and bows of porridge, Huntun, and soy milk warms the entire area. People talking to each other on wooden benches, eating through the smoke from the wood fire.

MOUNTAIN 龙泉山

Cold Yet Warm

After Breakfast, people go on the mountain, communicate with the nature. Stretch out and be ready for the day. Meditation also take place; although it is quit and peaceful, I could still feel the warm atmosphere immersed within every corner of the mountain. In Picture two, you will see two men pressing their hand against acupuncture point according to Chinese Traditional Medical Belief. Massaging Acupuncture point relieves stress and refreshes one's soul.
